Britain's fat cats are about to get a lot fatter

1 	Read the articles. In small groups, discuss whether large pay rises are 		justified for senior executives such as Cedric Brown.

2 	Use a copy of the appointments section of The Daily Telegraph. Select 20 		very different jobs. Produce a database including details of  pay, skills 		required, experience and location. Use your database, and your 			understanding of the articles, to suggest why some people are paid more 		than others.

3 	Salaries are only one way of rewarding staff. Examine the advertisements 	and the articles to see how else firms may reward staff.
